Manchester has 132 Primary schools, 15 Secondary Schools and 9 academies. Typically Manchester has around 20 places on the GTP with support from both the primary and secondary phases.

Rochdale

Rochdale welcomes applicants to the Graduate Teacher Programme.  It has 69 Primary Schools, 14 High Schools and 4 Special Schools.  Potential applicants for the Graduate Teacher Programme in Rochdale schools should contact schools in the Borough directly.  The LA contact is Paul Thomson who can be contacted at paul.thomson@rochdale.gov.uk once contact with schools has been made.

Oldham


Oldham LA provides advice to prospective trainee teachers for employment-based ITT. We help match prospective candidates to interested schools. Assistance is offered to schools in the selection of trainees as they apply to STORM. Tameside

Tameside has 74 Primary schools, 10 Secondary schools, 5 Academies and 5 Special schools.  Primary and Secondary schools have supported Graduate Trainees in the past.  Prospective Graduate Trainees are advised to seek support from a school first.  The Local Authority can offer advice and guidance regarding the application process but cannot match Graduate Trainees to schools.

Trafford

Trafford Local Authority has 71 Primary Schools (52 primary, 8 juniors, 8 infants), 18 Secondary Schools (7 grammar, 11 high), 6 Special Schools (3 primary, 3 secondary) and 4 Short Stay Schools (1 primary, 3 special).  85% of schools in Trafford have been graded either good or outstanding by Ofsted.

Stockport

Stockport has 96 Nursery/Infant/Junior/Primary schools, 13 Secondary Schools and 1 Academy. Approximately 20% of Primaries and all Secondaries have supported GT’s in the past but involvement is very limited currently.

Salford LA  welcomes interest from those considering employment based ITT. Help will be given in matching prospective candidates with participating schools and providing opportunities to observe in schools.
